How do I find the exact wifi card type in my mid 2010 Macbook pro. System information states

    AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x8D)

I know the card is a Broadcom but I do not see how to identify the exact model.

    • AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi wireless networking2 (based on IEEE 802.11n specification); IEEE 802.11a/b/g compatible
    per: https://support.apple.com/kb/sp582?locale=en_US

i wonder if you can get the mac of that airport card and find out (terminal app :
"networksetup -listallhardwareports" (without the quotes). and under wifi..
    then go to https://macvendors.com/

But iou probably just says Apple Inc.

The last thing i can think of is finding out the firmware of the card. this used to be in the old OSX under apple > system specs > airport > firmware.

    Yep, found it..

    Apple > About this Mac > System report > Networking > Wifi > en1

    my imac from 2009 has:
Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x8E)
    Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.106.98.100.24)

typing in google broadcom bcm43xx 1.0 gave me
    https://www.broadcom.com/products/Wireless-LAN/802.11-Wireless-LAN-Solutions/BCM4335

Maybe you can try the same on your airport card
