Hey friends

I know this have been discussed previously but I am still starting a new topic as I am facing this issue more after updating to the latest two releases.

Now it disconnects and takes a few seconds to connect whereas previously it was almost instant and sometimes it shows connected but it is still connected to data instead of wifi (trying to upload a screen shot but it's getting failed).

Any idea as to why this have happened and what I could do to resolve this.

Thanks

Attached the screen shot in another post as it was getting failed in the OP.

Anyone?

Will a clean restore help? Is it even worth trying as it will mean spending hours setting up everything again.

Mine takes a few seconds but it automatically connects once I wake up the screen.
Why does it bother you?
Wifi connection disconnects automatically by default to save battery then auto connects when needed.

Actually the other phones in my house doesn't have this issue although they are 7 & 7+ (not sure if it have to do anything with this).

And it bothers me as I don't use data often as I haven't subscribed to it and it cost me to use it so I want to remain connected to wifi which I have access to all the time. And if data is off and wifi disconnects, won't it result in me getting messages, emails and notifications after a delay I.e only after I turn the screen on?

WiFi connection isn't active usually when the phone goes to sleep (and not plugged in). You still get your notifications and all that in the same timely manner. And if the phone is to do anything data intensive it would use WiFi just as it would connect to it at most shortly after you turn on the screen.

OK thanks mate. That means it won't make a difference if I keep mobile data off?

If that's the case then it's fine for me but still confused as to why this don't happen on the other phones we have.

If you disable mobile data then the phone might actually keep the wifi connection while asleep as I recall.

What exactly didn't happen with other phones?

In other phones I would hardly notice wifi disconnected while I unlock them whereas in my phone there's a noticeable lag.

It happens to all iphones if they are not connected to a power source.
The same topic and questions come up all the time.
That's how its supposed to act.
No amount of restoring or setting up as new will change that behavior.

I know mate, it's just that it's taking a bit more time to connect to wifi now. But since the notifications will still come (as told above) even if the mobile data is off this issue don't concern me anymore.

Also check the screen shot I posted in the second post, it shows wifi connected but it's still connected to mobile data hence the query.

This could be closed now.
