Hello -

Simple question -

My macbook air is connected to an Apple Express. Speedtest.net clocks me at 7 MB/s download speed. But whenever I download anything it is MUCH slower than that. Lion took hours but I figured that was because Apple's servers were clogged up.

Today, I downloaded a 888MB software update and it took 25 minutes or a rate of .5MB/s.

Is something wrong with either my computer or my AEBS?

Thanks!

Speedtest reports in Mbps, not MB/s. A 7 Mbps connection works out to around .86 MB/s. Downloading an 888 MB file in 25 minutes works out to around .6 MB/s, which is reasonable given what you can expect in the real world.
