Not sure this is the correct forum. Months ago I was having this issue where my wifi would stop until I rebooted the imac. When I lose the wifi I can't even see any networks.

I am running the latest operating system 10.12.6 Sierra. My imac is mid 2010 or 2011.

It stopped for several months but now the same thing is happening. Wifi drops until I have to reboot the mac and it wifi appears again.

The router/modem is from my internet/tv provider. All in one unit.

Is this a imac issue? my isp modem/router issue?

Is there any things I can check or change?

Thanks

Does any other device drop WiFi at the same time?

From your description, it sounds like a hardware issue with the iMac.

There's a hardware issue with your iMac then. I have no knowledge of the iMac's internals; hopefully others chime in.

Just a follow up. For the first time my iPad dropped wifi. I had to reboot the device before wifi came back.

So considering it’s two devices dropping wifi. It must be in my router/modem combo?

Thanks
