WiFi, Hotspot Finder

On an iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1…

I'm looking for a free (or inexpensive) Wifi Hotspot finder (Mainly USA). I have found a few in the App Store, but they all seem to have numerous shortcomings. Perhaps I'm just looking on the wrong place.

So if you have a suggestion, indeed that would be most welcome.

On the plus side, I did not start any WiFi finder wars.

But I thought there must be some kind soul who has experience with the different wifi/hot spot finders that has advice to share.

Please, anyone?
