Seems like I've been here before but I can't remember Apple's convoluted logic......
I have my action button on my 16 Pro set to toggle the state of the personal Hotspot. That seems to work..... it toggles between either "off" or "available" as shown in the in dynamic island. And if my Windows laptop is connected, it seems to disconnect if I toggle hotspot to OFF using the action button. But it reconnects soon thereafter?? The only way to turn hotspot totally OFF is to open the hotspot page in settings and toggle "allow others to join" to OFF. Does this make sense? What is the point of an action to toggle the state of the hotspot if "off" isn't really "off"??
In case you are wondering, this is for use when camping. When I am no longer using my hotspot but am still within WiFi range of our trailer, I'd like to be able to easily disconnect and turn hotspot off so it does not use extra battery and/or attempt to reconnect to my laptop. Can this be done with a shortcut perhaps?
And what is the point of having the action button NOT toggle the "allow others to join" slider?
