Wifi icon doesnt change - please help -

I have an iphone 2g (firmware 2.2.1 jailbroken and unlock), everything was perfect. I had imobilecinema installed but I just unistalled and (dont know if that's causing the problem) now the wifi icon doesnt show even when Im connected to a wireless network, it keeps showing the "edge" icon. But Im sure that Iam connected to a wireless network because I can surf the net, etc. and I know that Im not surfing trough "edge" because I ran out of surfing minutes trough edge (sorry about my english not my native languaje). Please Help. Thanks!

try a reset. Sometimes the wifi icon doesn't show up.
