So I took possession of the 2019 Mac Pro 16 core yesterday. I've been busy but am slowly starting to clean install my software. It's weird but I KIND OF have three Mac pros networked. Basically to update and transfer, but I'm not sure how I'm going to have everything set up. I have the three patched into a ethernet hub, but the new MP is connected through the internet with wifi. I'm trying to get the ethernet 2 to be the preferred online connection, but it's preferring wifi. If I turn wifi off then I can't connect to the printer. But for the moment anyway, wifi is SUPER SLOW. It takes the pleasure away from having this new spangled machine.

How can I set it so online connects internet directly to the cable box as preference? I'll also say all three Mac Pros are sharing one screen. For now it's not through screen sharing but a switcher for the older two because they using daisyport and the new which is HDMI. Samsung screen not Apple display.

Not sure if this will make a difference but try this:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Open the Network panel
  3. Select the settings cog at the bottom of the left hand connection list
  4. Select "Service Order"
  5. Drag your ethernet connection above your Wi-Fi connection
  6. Select Ok

See if that improves things.

Thank you. It mihght also have been a bad ethernet cable. What is PCI serial adaptor? It's not configured but it was in the top slot.

I’m pretty sure mine is a separate problem. I have an audio interface that has a weird glitch. The developer write a fixit. The problem was slowed internet to a crawl. I thought the problem was in my Mac. But now I know it’s in the interface.
