Just wondering if anyone is having this issue and have found a fix...

I currently have 5 HomePods connected to 5Ghz network...

Stereo Pair HomePod Mini (Kitchen)
Stereo Pair HomePod (Living Room)
Single HomePod (Bedroom)

For some reason every 24-48 hours only 1 HomePod (one in the living room) keeps loosing its WiFi connection... which is strange because it’s in the same room as my router.

It only reconnects if I unplug it and plug it back in...

I have tried completely removing it from the Home app and setting it back up again, but the issue keeps coming back... any help is much appreciated...

Have you tried physically moving it to a different location just to troubleshoot?
I haven’t as it’s only about 2 metres away from my router... but I will try it and see if it does the same thing...

Yeah that’s probably not it, but sometimes good to rule out simple things first.
I have read a lot of articles online in regards to the mini’s doing the exact same thing, so I am hoping it is just a software issue affecting a small number of HomePods 🤞

have you tried restoring your HomePod to new, and then setting it up again?

it might help
it shouldn't hurt
and it's fairly painless to do.

Yeah tried that but it only does it after about 24-48 hours, like as if the WiFi just times out until it’s rebooted then it connects fine again for another 24-48 hours... pretty frustrating but have noticed there is the same issue happening with the HomePod Mini https://www.trustedreviews.com/news/apple-homepod-mini-wifi-problems-4110330

So I am thinking it’s an issue affecting some users on latest update maybe...

If it's one HomePod, and the same one every time, I'd waste no time opening a ticket with Apple.

Also probably worth checking your DHCP settings (lease time, available addresses etc). If the "drop" coincides with a DHCP lease renewal, that might be in play too although I would think that wouldn't affect just a single HomePod.

Yeah I am going to try the above, moving it to a different place etc and see if it keeps doing it, if it does I will open a ticket with Apple as it’s still within 12 months warranty, I am presuming it’s a software issue, but could be hardware.

Having reset the HomePod and the HomePod yet again dropping its connection... I rebooted it, and for over a week now it hasn’t disconnected... maybe a little teething issue possibly, but seems to be working fine now.

Going to keep my eye on it and if it’s starts doing it again I will open a ticket with Apple... I have a feeling, as I had previously set it up on my 2.4ghz network, and reset it to set it up on my 5Ghz network it somehow might have remembered the 2.4ghz and was trying to connect to it possibly... that’s all I can put it down to... strange one though
