    Hello all,

Just wondering if the Iphone sends out personal information to routers/firewalls when you connect to an access point. Does the iPhone have a hostname that can be seen by the router?

I am just wondering how safe wardriving on the iPhone is...

    Thanks

it shows up as iPhone in the dns list. I can get it's MAC address, but unless you hacked it and have ssh running, that's about as much as I can get from it while connected by wifi.

No more than anything else you use to connect WiFi. If you use a secure network, you will be as protected as the encryption.
