Hey,
My iPhone 3G stopped seeing any WiFi networks several months ago and has never worked once, except for about 5 seconds after I restored it as a new phone. It didn't even connect that time either, It just found my network. It worked perfectly until sometime around the 3.0 update (however I am not blaming 3.0, it might be a coincidence). The iPod Touch, iMac, MBP, Dell laptop, 2 Toshiba laptops, and my PS3 can all see it and connect to it fine, so my setup is definitely not the problem. It suddenly stopped working one day and has never connected again to any network. Even public ones (Starbucks, library, etc.). It's a pain to have so many apps that don't function completely without WiFi.
Another thread on the issue that has 85 pages of replies (Apple forums)
On the Apple forums, someone said that putting your iPhone inside a plastic bag in a freezer helps because there are micro scratches or something on the soldering that mess up the connection. Many people tried it on that thread and it apparently worked. I don't have a warranty anyway, so it isn't voiding anything that isn't already voided.
My question:
Has anyone had this issue and fixed it?
Has anyone tried the freezing method?
If you haven't tried it, do you think it will work?
Thanks,
vinay427
