I was just wondering if anyone is having the same problem I am. When I go home, where my iPod is set to link to my Wifi network, it says it does in settings, but will not connect to the internet or show the wifi icon in the menu bar. This is very odd to me and I was wondering if any other 2g iPod touch's are having this problem. I did not experience this with my 1g for an entire year, and this iPod is doing it after only 5 days. If this is very common, I will not return it. If not, it is going to be exchanged at Costco very quickly.

My touch on Campus

My 2G Touch does almost the same thing. I thought it might be just because I'm on the Georgia Tech Wireless network, but I'm glad to see others may be having the same troubles. (Maybe Apple will fix it if it's not just me). I've had success with restarting the Touch and it connects just fine. It's not a permanent solution, but it works while we wait for Apple to 'bug fix' it out. (And put in other new, more impressive bugs);)

What kind of security are you using? I am on a Wireless A,B,G,N network with WPA2 Personal security.

The 2G has an external volume control on the left side.
The 2G has an external speaker.
The 2g has a silver mirrored backside.

Same problem in Georgia Tech (GTWireless)

I have exact the same problem. Apple store even replace a refurbished one for me, but the problem is still happening. The interesting thing is that it only happened when I use Georgia Tech Wireless (GTWireless.) I guess maybe it is caused by the routers in Georgia Tech. Have you already asked OIT about this issue, Blazecc? Or is there any other gatech student knows how to solve this problem?
