If this was asked before, sorry.

I did the carrier update and my mms works, but I am having issues with my wifi. Before I had no problems, but now at home anytime I use the internet I have to keep putting in my password to access my wifi. I am pretty sure I did not have this problem before the carrier update for the mms to work, anyone else having this issue? Any advice?

I tried this and it made my text messages stop working. I restored my phone to a backup I did before doing the carrier file update. I thought it would have changed my carrier file update back to 5.0, but instead it kept the 5.1 ipcc file. It seems to be working now, I am not having to re enter my password for my wifi at home everytime I use safari.

Does anyone know if there will be an official ipcc file update coming? and will it overwrite the 5.1 ipcc file we have? Has anyone tried to go back to 5.0? and if so how?

The method described at that site is exactly what I did to enable tethering right after firmware 3.0 was released. And having that tethering hack on my iPhone is exactly why I had SIGNIFICANT problems with my iPhone 3GS when I upgraded to 3.1. An AT&T level 2 technical service rep told me flat out, if you hack the carrier file or jailbreak the phone and then install firmware 3.1, you WILL have problems.

Yep! Per the AT&T tech rep's suggestion (after he had me try several other things first), I did a complete restore as a "new" iPhone and then manually reinstalled all of my music/photos/apps and manually set all of the necessary settings. It was a GIANT pain in the ass! I never want to deal with that again so I will NEVER again "hack" my iPhone.

    Around here, I know that's sacrilege! :)
