Wifi router recomendations

So I'm thinking of replacing my 10+ year old time capsule with something newer. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm in a small studio apartment so I won't need massive range for it. I just need something that has dual band and has decent wifi speeds.
 
I have had good luck with the latest Fios Gateway Router. I am sure there are better routers, in terms of speed. However, I went with Fios, so that if there were ever issues, Verizon could not point the finger at someone else

If you are using Fios for TV, you will still need to maintain a Fios Router. I rather have one box than two. YMMV.
 
I would separate router and WLAN access point.

For the router, I can't really make a recommendation. I use pfSense on an APU board - but my bandwidth-requirements are much lower.

For WiFi, I'd go Ubiquity.
 
I admit I am a fan of Asus and Netgear routers and as another mentioned, good to check out routers at smallnetbuilder.com . I would only say that an AC1900 router is a reasonable starting point in selecting a model. If your flat is a small one, other makers too will work well. Consider what features you want and make sure to shop with those features being offered with the router.
