Is there other people with rMBP late 2013 that has a problem of lengthy wifi scanning after sleep for a few hours? Unlike iPad, if it's more than a few hours since I closed the MacBook, it goes into scanning for wifi for a while (almost a minute) even if I was connected to my home wifi previously.

I'm wondering if it's a normal behavior or there is something wrong.

Nope... my late 2013 rMBP connects to my network after sleep almost instantaneously... Something is wrong... I would start with a static IP adress network reservation... Good luck.

How do I reserve static IP address? If it's not connecting, it's simpler to act on, but since it connects eventually, not sure if I need to live with or not.

Mine sometimes does this too. I've read some stuff on trashing the wifi preferences plist and forcing OS X to recreate it, but all the instructions I've found are for older versions. Following the steps in Mavericks doesn't quite work as the files have slightly different names.
