I have a 13-inch, Late 2009 MacBook with 10.11.15 OS X El Capitan loaded in. A 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8 GB of Memory. I have been having wifi problems where it shuts itself off and I am forced to reset the NVRAM just to have wifi back again. Just recently, it has been shutting off as I am downloading games on Steam. This problem has been happening since February and I want to figure out how to fix this. I have attached some error logs that I believe might have something. If there's any other information that is needed to help you help me figure out this problem I will try to get it to you.

Hmm. We'll go through some basic troubleshooting:

1) Reset router
2) Disable login items such as Skype/Dropbox
3) Restart Mac with reopen windows when logging back in disabled/unchecked
4) Reset PRAM/SMC (though you've already done this a fair few times)
5) Try create a new admin user account and see if the error persists through that
6) Check HDD's OK by verifying SMART data

I know it's pretty basic stuff, but running through the above should help whittle down if the issue is software or hardware related. :)

Download the free application EtreCheck and use it to scan to see if you had ether a Trojan or old plugin that be causing it.

The results are too large for me to even consider screenshotting or pasting the whole thing. I was able to get rid of other plugins that were still left but I didn't see anything that could pose a problem.

I went through all of it and currently just waiting on number 5 right now. I'm not too sure when it will happen again but I'll monitor the situation. I did number 6 as well and I screenshotted the results.

Disk Utility didn't show any problems but the application you linked did.

Well, the HDD is in the stage of failing, so you'll need to consider replacing it at some point anyway.

You might as well do that (replace with an SSD) and see if the issue persists on a fresh install of the OS. I can't say with any certainty that a failing HDD is the root cause, but you know how it is with troubleshooting ... find an issue, fix that issue, and see if the original issue persists :D
