Seems like it did when updating music. It would restart when I connected the iphone to computer (USB) compared to over WiFi. I did that in part because WiFi was taking to longer. At first I was dismayed that I lost all songs that it had uploaded (wiFi) but in end definitely save time.

Wifi Sync use USB when connected?

ok
1) Start doing WiFi sync for music (means updated iphone to sync WiFi)
2) Connection your iphone to your computer via USB cable.
Result
Data will get pushed via USB instead of Wifi.
