I've had a little look for a fix but I just can't find a working solution.

Whenever I turn my iMac on or wake it from sleep it will never connect to my wifi network, gives a "timeout error". It'll then say it can't find my any of my networks and if I'd like to join my network (isn't remembering my network?).

It takes about 5 minutes to connect. I just have to keep clicking connect and hope for the best.

Tiger didn't do this and my PowerBook on Leopard, next to my iMac, connects right away.

    It's a 2ghz C2D iMac from 2006. Plastic one.

    Jimmi,

This sounds quite different from the wifi dropout issue some people have been describing...

When you go to the list of known networks in system preferences -> network, are there any extraneous known networks? If so, delete them. One possibility is that it's hanging on trying to connect to one of them.

Another thing to try is that, even though it seems to be a Leopard issue, it could also be an RFI issue... so if possible, give a quick try to a different WiFi channel, just to make sure this isn't the cause.

Yeah, just keep trying. I don't know of any fixes, but it happens to me occasionally. Mine don't seem to be as bad as yours though.

I've changed the Wifi channel around a bit but I still get it. And my home network is the only one my iMac can see. During long attempts at getting it working I try picking the iMac up and moving it around so it can just connect.
Once it does connect it's fine and never cuts out. Infact the Wifi signal has full bars.

I think it knew I was annoyed with it because it connected only on the 2nd attempt this morning.
