There seems to be a few rumors pointing towards a March iPad event, but I wonder if that's not going to be for this new 10.1" model that people seem to be talking about.

Could we see an October/November refresh of the iPad Pro 12,9 inch then?

The iPad Pro 12.9 is at it's one year anniversary. If it's not updated in March, then highly likely at the September 2017 Key Note.

My thoughts are the March KeyNote will debut the 7.9, and 10.1 iPad. Followed By a Pro refresh for the 12.9 in September.

Sadly I agree with you on the 10.1" launch in March, I just hope Apple will refresh the 12.9 before then, but I am starting to doubt that because the product doesn't technically need a refresh, it is still so fast!

I hope in a silent update in the next few weeks.
A10x CPU, same DCI-P3 True Tone display, and same camera as 9.7 Pro model.

No need for a dedicate keynote.

I agree, no need for a keynote, just update it

Not happening... The great big Pause... I feel apple has dedicated MOST of its efforts to the iPhone... and with a Lot of problems with the 7, little effort will be spared to the iPad or for that matter the MacBook Pro...

Spring 2017 is a great time for iPad updates. We had updates to iOS devices this year, as well as iOS itself.
There really isn't a reason to do one any time soon when we're still waiting on desktop solutions and only have a couple of months left.

Actually, no one on this forum or anyone else but Apple knows what's going to happen. We just have to wait-and-see.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a brief appearance still this year,

March/April at the soonest. Though the pros will more likely be a small update in the fall of 2017, as I don't anticipate a full redesign anytime soon.

Assuming they only update the Pro 12.9" in March, that will mean it will have gone for 16 months without an upgrade?!?!

I would be surprised to see that happen.

The iPad's are rumoured to be updated next year, 3 different sizes are rumoured to be introduced. I cant see them updating them this month at the October event.

12.9" is plenty fast enough and the 4gb ram ensures it'll be fine for a while. Only thing conspicuously lacking is True Tone and wide gamut display. Admittedly, if I didn't already own one, I wouldn't buy one now this late into the cycle.

I'd rather they released a much better Smart Keyboard with function keys and adjustable angles. Absolutely not going to happen, but one can dream.

Was tempted by the Brydge keyboard, but going back to Bluetooth seems so retro grade now.

They just changed some of the pricing and storage at the event in September....all signs point to a Spring 2017 refresh at this point across the entire line.
