So there is a deal on a Western Digital 1TB portable hadr drive for $65. I dont want to pass this up. I plan on ripping a bunch of movies to it and use it for traveling. Will 1TB be too much? Or should I wait and get a smaller one?

It's not too much, that HDD is great for storage. It depends on how large your files is and if you'll be needing all that space.

Also, there are 350GB portable Western Digital's which are pretty neat.

Even if it is overkill 320gb drives run about that.

Yeah when I ordered it was backorder 🙁. But I dont mind waiting that long. And I took forever to order and it logged me out at least 4 times...Oh and it is Only OS X compatible. But on slickdeals it had a bunch of people reformatting it....

I have NEVER heard anyone say the following:

"I sure wish I hadn't bought that extra GB storage on my HD!"

Never

As a safety precaution, I'd buy 2 '500GB' portable hard drives instead of 1 '1TB'. With the hard drive filled up, it'll take only 1 nasty impact to lose all your data.

Mexbearpig, how did you make a signature like that?
