Will 4GB DDR2 (non ecc) modules / sticks work on PowerMac G5?
Or The chipset limit's the modules to 2 gb?

I think they are limited to 2GB modules as the maximum is 8x2GB. Not sure but that's my guess

If you mean 2.0 Dual Processor (AGP) from your sig, answer is: definitely will not work. Your board not supports DDR2, only DDR RAM and max capacity of single stick is limited to 1 GB, not 2 GB. So max RAM that you could have is 8 GB.

2GB DDR2 modules are working only in Late 2005 models (Dual Core, PCIe), and only those could be maxed out with 16 GB RAM.

Yes, they should work. However MacOS can see only 16 GB max.

This thread is from April 2010, about a year and four months before I signed up here. Not sure @ediflorianus might be concerned about it twelve years later.

Not trying to start a fight, I just don't see a point in quoting people from threads long dead - especially if you're just restating what's already been said.
