I am waiting on an Imac refresh. Until it is released, I am trying to get my problems solved. I know that I can run windows 7 in bootcamp mode on a 2011 mac mini and play blu ray discs. But I am not sure if, while in bootcamp, I can connect the mac mini to an 2011 Imac running in target display mode by using a Thunderbolt cable. My whole intent is to play blu ray on the Imac display. However, they killed using everything but a 2011/12 Mac for Imac target display mode.

I know this is a dead thread, but I had the same question. I am looking to maybe run a Mac mini with windows (only way to get cablecard support, the Mac OS apps do not support any of them.)

If I could run a Mac mini under boitcamp, but occasionally hook it up to my 2011 iMac to use as a screen, it would be perfect for my situation.
