I just bought the new macbook pro. Every once in a while though, I still use a old white macbook. Will the 85W magsafe charger work with the macbook, even though the macbook comes with a 60W magsafe charger?

tho im pretty sure it would just be better to use the one that came with it.

Are you sure? I don't want to screw it up.

I would but I lost it. :( I've been using a friend's extra charger up until now, but he needs it back again.
Well Ive heard that it works, but the charging time is a little wacky, your gonna have to wait for someone who actually owns it to know for sure.

Till then, this serves as a bump to bring attention to your thread so someone with experience can answer you

Yes it works!

One of my classmates borrowed my power adapter many times. I have a MBP and he has a MB. It works, the opposite (MB power adapter for MBP) does NOT work!

yes it works!

and ditto, the other way around does not! (MB charger w/ MBP) it does but dont expect to charge your battery very fast. You can also potentially damage the battery that way too.
