Will a MBP magsafe work with MB?

I just bought the new macbook pro. Every once in a while though, I still use a old white macbook. Will the 85W magsafe charger work with the macbook, even though the macbook comes with a 60W magsafe charger?

I would but I lost it. 🙁 I've been using a friend's extra charger up until now, but he needs it back again.

Well Ive heard that it works, but the charging time is a little wacky, your gonna have to wait for someone who actually owns it to know for sure.

Yes, it will work just as well. A family member of mine uses a MBP magsafe with his MB.

One of my classmates borrowed my power adapter many times. I have a MBP and he has a MB. It works, the opposite (MB power adapter for MBP) does NOT work!

yes it works!

and ditto, the other way around does not! (MB charger w/ MBP) it does but dont expect to charge your battery very fast. You can also potentially damage the battery that way too.

If you read the small print on the adapter it says 60W-85W. 😉
