Will a USB to FIREWIRE adapter improve transfer speeds?

I have a WD 2TB hard drive, and I am wondering if I purchase a USB TO FIRE adapter, will that speed up any transfers I make? Thanks for the help in advance.

USB to Firewire adapters do not exist.

USB and FireWire are so different that you can't just use an adapter (even though if you can find one on the internet).

They have total different ways of communicating.

Agreed with Intell, they do not exist, and they would also be limited to the slower USB interface even if they did.
