In one year (when the iPhone 6 is released) can I expect substantially better (> 10%) resale value on a Verizon 5s over a T-mobile/At&t model? Is this prediction to had to make?

If you get the AT&T/T-Mobile 5S unlocked then their resale value will be about the same as the Verizon one. The Verizon one is already unlocked right out of the box so it has higher resale value than one that is locked to T-Mobile or AT&T

Yes it always will. It should have a better resale value right now.

Perhaps, but I don't think by much.

As you know, the Verizon 5S can fully support Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile just fine, making it the most universal. Though, I don't think most people will be switching from a (CDMA) carrier like Verizon to a (GSM) carrier like AT&T/T-Mobile often, if at all.

So in a way, I think the resale value will be similar to what past Verizon iPhones vs past GSM (unlocked) devices sold for.

If you're looking for an unlocked 5S, you're not going to care whether it can support Verizon or not. So you won't pay significantly (+10%) more for it.
