I just purchased the iPad VGA cable. Then I realized my TV doesn't have a VGA input. I found this adapter on monoprice.com.

Do you think the iPad would be able to send video out through a VGA cable with this component adapter? Monoprice says that it won't unless the computer supports component video out.

Should I just get a composite adapter instead? I'd like maximum resolution. My TV is 720.

Apple sells both component and composite cables for the iPad - I have both and both look amazing - you should be able to find these on eBay for $30 each.

Thanks. I didn't realize Apple sold the component cables. I was in the store last night and only saw the composite cables. I chose VGA because it was the only cable specifically branded for the iPad and I also wanted HD resolution.

I'd still like to know if a component adapter would work with the VGA cable if anyone knows.
