Many of them seem to be 'unlocked' but are different providers, such as Fido or Rogers. I was wondering if one of these phone would work with Telus? or if Telus would allow a foreign phone?

Bl0ckHe1d macrumors 6502 Nov 19, 2009 452 93 Caledonia Nov 21, 2009 #2 yes an unlocked iphone will work on telus i have jailbroken the iphone using redsn0w and unlocked it using ultrasn0w and had no problem with telus however be careful when upgrading the firmware to 3.1.2 and unlock using blacksn0w...this will work but my also screw up your wifi chip

M mullenc525 macrumors newbie Jan 2, 2010 13 0 Jan 2, 2010 #3 Can you elaborate on 3.1.2 and blacksnow? Is the wifi chip permanently fubared, or can it be fixed by going back to the old OS? Also, is it safer to use ultrasnow for example to unlock 3.1.2?
