i mean ive had every iphone thats released its just that i dont like paying $600 for a phone... especially when it cant be utilized to its full potential in my area...

Dude MSRP for smartphones are pricey, deal with it. If you want to pay less, buy an older/used model.

That's what smartphones cost. So if you've had every phone you've paid either $650 or more if on contract.

Buy an iPod touch

I got confirmation from T-mobile rep on their forum that all T-mobile iPhone 5's will come out locked even when a person pays a "full" price of $579. This reflects the $70 discount. But T-mobile generally unlocks it if you have been with them for 60 days and is very liberal. I have had my last 2 phones unlocked in less than a month because I was traveling overseas.
The unlocked version will be interesting with the next release. Since T-mobile doesn't force you on a contract, you could pay full price for a T-mobile phone and it will be unlocked with no contract obligation. So it almost makes sense for them to now make a "unlocked" version available from the get go.

That sounds like the old rules. There is no reason for them to keep a phone locked 60 days when you pay full price and aren't on a contract. Even T-mobile has stated when the iPhone is paid off, they will unlock it. So you will not have to wait 60 days.
