?

Will the new iPhone support 3rd party background apps?

  1. Yes. Full 3rd Party background support like the Palm Pre.

Personally, I am hoping that they allow some limited support of 3rd party apps.

For example, Only allowing like 3 background apps at a time, and limited to app store approval (Pandora, AIM, etc. will run)

Oh yeah, this poll is referring to the NEW IPHONE ONLY!
There's no chance they'll allow background apps on the existing iPhone hardware.

You can already do this on all iphones, with 3rd party solution, so why bother asking something you know already works (without official support)?

I'm talking about an officially supported feature, obviously.

agreed. I think they might not allow it on the 3G though because the slower processor/less RAM would make the performance hit that much greater.

I agree, and therefore voted NO, but I hope to be wrong.

I also assume 'eventually' is a long time away. Hope I'm wrong there too
