will Apple have iPhones named iPhone 13 ? at the current rate, the iPhone 13 will be out in 5 to 6 years, right? or will Apple switch away from having numbers after the iPhone name?

will people actually buy a phone that has the number 13?

"Between the Hedges"
I doubt they will keep the current naming convention that long
But even if they did, I don't think the number 13 would have any impact on sales whatsoever

I'd still buy it. I think once they get near 10 they might reevaluate naming strategy though. That's just a guess.

Very unlikely. By the time we're there the changes will probably be so minimal with each announcement that it won't be as big of a thing anymore (a la MacBook Pro) so they'll just call it iPhone. It'd be cool to see 10 but after they should call it a day.

iPhone 13, iPhone pro, air. I couldn't care less what it's called.

That's so far off, anything could happen between now and then, so they may not be naming iPhones the same way. But as others have said, 13 is just a number. Few people are so irrationally superstitious that they would let that stop them from buying a phone they want.

Seems a bit unreasonable to be concerned about an iPhone name or number this far in advanced. I don't think there is anything wrong with your thread, but no one in here will have a justifiable answer or opinion. And no matter what the title of the iPhone, someone would always purchase it.

You are guessing it wrong if they release "S"after the actual then it will take upto 1O to 11 years ( not 5-6 year's)to reach name -13

2017 - iPhone 7S
2018 - iPhone 8
2019 - iPhone 8S
2020 - iPhone 9
2021 - iPhone 9S
2022 - iPhone 10
2023 - iPhone 10S
2024 - iPhone 11
2025 - iPhone 11S
2026 - iPhone 12
2027 - iPhone 12S
2028 - iPhone 13

Maybe they'll change the naming convention by then, but so what if they don't? 13 is just a number like any other.

my office building has no 13th floor... the hotel that I stayed at last week had no 13th floor....

advice to young kids... stay in school, don't do drugs or other crimes... or by the time you come out of prison, you'll be missing many generations of iPhones!

Apple sells iPhone 4/4S in chinese majority countries like Hong Kong and Singapore, where the number 4 means "death."

I don't think Apple would have a problem here, although after 10, it does look a bit silly. Maybe they should just use year from then on, or simply iPhone SE/iPhone/iPhone Pro.

You must have inside sources with Apple's manufacturers. What are you going to do when the iPhone 7s is perhaps the iPhone 8? Now your whole itemized calendar is wrong.

So you have inside source with apple, that's why you are claiming everywhere that this will not be typical "S" year, i really hope your predictions may go wrong and apple release a same iPhone 7S Plus with some internal upgrades this year

I'm almost curious if we'll even have iPhones that far in the future. Perhaps they'll be built into a watch as a projector, maybe a form like Google glasses, heck maybe it'll be implantable technology!

Well, I'd gladly walk under a ladder, while crossing the path of a black cat, on a friday the 13, while dropping (and breaking) a mirror. After all, nothing bad would happen because of it.

I don't think a company as big as Apple care about old superstitions. Plus, as other have said 13 is a lucky number in some culture.

I highly doubt Apple would consider putting 2 digit numbering after iPhone, imho it would look silly. They'd most likely just call it an iPhone along with different variant name and it would have an internal naming that identifies the date of release like what they did with the iPad.
