over time, the macbook pros will become close to if not as thin as the macbook air. I'm very curious as to what the next mbp form factor will be.

If Apple does not do it...some other company eventually will.

I've recently seen Samsung (the 9 series) taking advantage of the MBA's lightweight and thin design, although I haven't checked the screen size or resolution on the notebook. Looks like other manufacturers are catching up to Apple after all...

I'm planning my second cross-country move this summer, and I have seriously considered switching from my 15" MBP to an Air - the only thing holding me back is the 13" screen size. If they made a 15" Air, I'd be the first one to buy it. I drool just thinking about it.

Either way, hopefully the 2012 MBPs get lightened/slimmed.

15" MacBook Pro Air

I too would love an Air (all SSD) 15". I'm sure someone could extrapolate what it could weigh. The value would be weight savings as well as speed. In the cloud driven future kicked off by the original Air, size and weight can be limited to the screen size plus the aluminum CNC'd body and a bit of PCBs.

Come on, if you don't use/need a 15" for your work you don't get it.
A 13" laptop IS NOT FOR DESIGN, ENGINEERING, FILM etc. As of now,
email writing, blog spinning and youtube surfers are getting the top of the technology line instead of the 24/7 creatives who need the badest ass
laptop ever.

Keep you 13" for playing Scrabble and FB please.

Apple, I'll prepay for mine now!!!

Oh yeah, while you're at it, anodize mine BLACK!

So thin and light only qualifies for 13" and under

It's a great idea to make a 15" Air... it would fly off the shelves .. so much so it would take a lot away from their 15" MBP sales.

In fact, they could introduce it for that, because Airs have an higher profit margin.
