Then use one, and stop whining about the iPhone being too advanced.Problem is...
If they can make calls/receive calls and don't crash, I'll be perfectly fine with that...
If those phones work so much better than your iPhone, USE THEM!!! I don't see what's so hard about this.No body here complain about the price. In fact, iPhone is my cheapest phone I have! Every cellphone I have, I paid over $600 and sometimes $1000. But regardless the price, THOSE PHONES WORK!
Not to beat a dead horse here, but I've actually never had a dropped call either. Since July 11th.As I said, no body complain to you doesn't mean you don't have drop calls.
Even your beloved Apple Inc. address this problem in 2.1, 2.2 fix! So, Wake up!
2. Too many drop calls to be a phone.
It is ridiculous! This month I receive around 30 complains toward friend/customer/boss phoning me that iPhone didn't even know of! Apple promised to fixed it on 2.1 but eventually it DOESN'T. What can a phone do if it cannot receive calls?
And trust me, it is not Roger's fault (strangely as this is the first time I defense Rogers), because the Nokia backup phone receive calls fine.
thats a problem with your sim card, u cant assume that because u have this problem EVERYone else does, if this was the case very few people would have the iPhone.
After having a Blackberry or Windows Mobile based phone for years I finally received an iPhone as an early Christmas present. I must say this is a really nice phone. It is very easy to use (especially when using a bluetooth headset). I am not a big web surfer, so I haven't seen the crashes some are seeing and I've never had any other firmware than 2.2 so the phone seems great to me.
The only issue I have is poor battery life!
I have adapted to this issue by turning off 3G except when downloading large e-mails and surfing. I also disable bluetooth when I'm in meetings and other situations when I can't receive calls. I never engage the wifi unless I am connected to power or really need hi-speed.
This is definitely a phone and its works well as one. Managing the battery life is the most serious issue and as a person who travels and uses this phone for business, the battery issue is a concern. However I am willing to live with that to have such a completely flexible device that is a phone but so much more.
Cheers,
If you are always around a computer I think the best thing to do is to carry an apple usb cable and charge it anytime you are by a computer
Yeah, and if your not around a computer all the time, is it just okay for your phone to die at 5pm?
No normal phone EVER runs out of battery as fast as the iphone.
Sure they cant do as much, but thats why they last so much longer.
A phone with ipod like battery is impressive.
I can go days without charging my 160gb classic
What is so wrong with the idea of apple doing something simple.
The shuffle is nothing at all but the simplest part of an ipod.
iPhone nano could be the simple part of an iphone.
Its apple. If they make it. People will buy it.

You know, it's funny. I read a lot of enormous stories on here like "safari crashes hard" and "dozens of dropped calls every week", but I have yet to experience a Safari lock-up and I've only had 2 dropped calls on the 3G network in my area. I've never had any keyboard lagging, or quite frankly and of the problems so often described on here. It makes me wonder...

Dude what is up with your rant ( sorry to be off topic)
Can you tell me a few things
a) what time do you start your day
b) what kind of activities do you do on you iPhone
c) Brightness of screen ?
d) What antenna's do you have on
e) Where do you work/do all day
I start my days at around 7-8 AM everyday, and my phone lasts all day. I usually get a 20 or 10% warning at about 6-7pm. By then I am already home.
I think thats a decent enough battery life for most users no ?
The statement highlighted in bold caught my attention.
Could you just define what a "normal" phone is? That's really vague. I could consider iPhone as normal to me, like any other phones (cause they all work, so they're normal)
So far I'm really satisfied with Apple taking a change in direction by creating an iPod + Phone (or whatever their equation was back in the release of the first generation iPhone) That really was amazing and surprising, not to mention the additional features it has that people really adopted and loved.
With regards to the thread's question, Will Apple make a cellphone? I don't know cause I'm not affiliated with Apple![]()

I agree that a phone + ipod is a great idea, and the iphone did it fantastically but it did hell of a lot more too. I was the basic (apple style) cell phone + ipod and nothing more. the iphone is too much for some. not me. but most of my friends don't even want one if they were free, its too much for them and they don't want to bother with it cause it will undoubtedly get broken or lost.
I beg to differ, if Apple just kept in plain and simple, it won't attract people's attention. Like what others said, they're not a cellphone company. Besides we're in the 21st century, we gotta keep on movingI'm pretty sure someday they're gonna come up (or someone) with a better solution on the battery if that's the only thing that hinders you. With regards to people who don't want it because of "its too much" - I don't really know about that, in my end a lot of people that I knew want this because of those "too much"

dude are you kidding me? thats apples appeal. they make things simple and easy. basic cellphones are not going away. battery is one of the biggest issues, and for now the only way to get rid of that issue is to use less power. (i.e. smaller/simpler device) and weather or not you acknowledge it, some people DO think it is too much. i know lots of them. apple makes great products. Im sure if apple made a simpler cellphone it would be better than any LG, Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Nokia, Kyocera or any other company. Isn't that a spot they should want?
I really don't see Apple making a "simpler" cellphone even though I could see you really want them to.
Just so we could end this, if people want to have a simpler cellphone, don't get an iPhone then, as simple as that.
As I'm just tired of people who keep on complaining, considering most of them knew the cons of the iPhone before
even purchasing.
Side note: Not to be rude but the one red should be "whether"
