will apple replace my 3g with a 4g after it's release?

my 3g has a firmware problem (error 28) and apple has offered to replace it for $200 (no contract). since they are discontinuing support for everything 3g and older, will they still have a 3g to replace it with? reconditioned unit maybe? or will i get lucky and get a newer 3gs or 4g?

This rarely happens if ever. Even the original iPhone still gets replaced with an original iPhone, they still have those in stock for out of warranty replacements.

Why buy a 3g for 200 when you could buy a 4g for 200 with a 2 year contract?

Everyone will have problem with 3g and 3gs and pay $200 to replace for 4g. 4g will be 200/300 with contract. No contract will be $600/700

4g 64gb = $199
4g 80gb = $299

I don't think you know what that word means. It's completely ILLOGICAL because there would be MILLIONS of people who would want to trade in their 3G/S for the 4th gen
