Hey guys,

I have had my iPhone 7 since launch day and had a cosmetic defect since it came out of the box.

As you can see from the picture the anodisation is missing. There is 0 damage on the phone and the area is completely smooth. Just no colour.

sorry to say, but you should've returned it the same or next day
not sure if they'll even bother now

Why did you wait till now?

I haven't had time to take it in. And have been unable up until now to get an appointment when I have been free. The screen also had a few dead pixels and the anodisation issue. But they didn't affect the use of the phone so it wasn't an urgent thing for me. However, now I have the opportunity, I would like to finally get a defect free iPhone.

Looks like user damage or wear and tear. If you were worried about it you could have started a chat to get the issue in the system and told them you could not make an appointment till a certain day.

The screen also had a few dead pixels and the anodisation issue.

This is a different issue and they may replace the screen under warranty.

Yep, you waited to long to report the cosmetic defect. But as Thor_1 above said, the pixels may warrant a screen replacement.

With Apple one never knows. Explain gently, courteously what you have related to us here. Include your inability to schedule a mutually agreeable time. Perhaps with the pixel issue, they may decide to simply replace it.

Apple has surprised a number of people. Certainly no harm in trying. Let us know. Good luck.

Glad things worked out for you. I've always had pretty good luck working with Apple. I hate windows products so unlesss something drastic happens with Apple, I will always buy their products.

I had problems with my iPod nano not holding a charge six months in. I called customer service who ran diagnostics on it. While I was on the phone with him, the battery decreased like 25%. He said yep you have a bad one. Got it replaced with a new one. And last year I sat on my phone and cracked the screen. They gave me a brand new phone because they didn't have any screens yet because the phone was so new. I had to pay what a new screen would have cost, but I thought that was fair since it was my own stupidity that caused the damage.

I am not hard to fine and look forward to meeting you.

Be prepared as I am.
Apologies for the misunderstanding. My quote, which is from a movie*, followed directly after the utterance of the phrase "good luck".
