Nope. I even attempted to do it with a store manager that I have known for years. He said he has no wiggle room with it. I wanted the Platinum Black Sports band with my Nike 3. I had to purchase it separately.

For 2 years now, I have been saying Apple needs to just sell watch faces and watch bands separately. You go in, pick the face and the band you want. They come in separate boxes and you go home with the combination you want. They ship faces separately for AppleCare replacements. This would be such an easy compromise and would probably give Apple the ability to charge more for the face.

I guess that would work fine in an Apple store but would become more difficult in 3rd party retailers.

Fair point. I guess they could offer both options. Maybe charge $25 extra for customization like Sunglass companies do. Still cheaper than having to buy a second band.

But when has this company ever allowed such customization options throughout their productline? I'm not being dismissive of your opinion and you're entitled to that, but do you really think that they would allow this type of customization in their stores specifically for the Apple Watch? Given how streamlined they want the purchases to be with ease and the process of having orders ready for pick up, etc.

I’ve actually had long talks with managers at Apple Stores about this and they have heard about it from a good amount of people. They have told me they have their own apple.com/feedback and they are constantly suggesting this idea. It seems to be very popular.
