If I go into an Apple Store, will they trade me a Magic Keyboard if I give them back the Keyboard with Numeric Keypad that came with my iMac?

I have active AppleCare on the iMac if that makes a difference.

The iMac (21.5" Retina) was purchased a while ago - October, 2015. But the Keyboard with Numeric Keypad has never been used.

I know, I've waited a long time since purchase and I should have just ordered the Magic Keyboard but alas, was not thinking.

I have never heard of that happening, where Apple takes back a part sold as an iMac accessory more than a year ago.
But, you could ask.
You might get surprised (but I doubt it will happen.)

As the keyboard/keypad is still currently sold, it's possible (very small possibility) that an Apple store will swap you out, when you pay the $50 difference in price between the two.

If you ever had it out of the original box (and removed the plastic wrap on a new keyboard), then I'll say it won't happen as you might hope.

eBay your keyboard. Sell it as brand new in box, never used.
I might ask $15 for it.

I figured it was a lost cause, but wondered since this iMac was sold with the choice of either keyboard (ie, there was no extra charge for the Magic Keyboard).

Oh well...

Thanks for the feedback. 🙂
