So my MBP is about 18 months old and the Magsafe connector is playing up. Some times I have to move the cable at the back of the Magsafe around until it properly connects.

I've got Applecare, so if I take it along to an Apple store will the give me a new power block ???

thanks,

This depends on who you get at the genius bar.

My macbook pro is about the same age as yours and is flawless except for some buckling of the case where the screen latch is.

I brought it in and all I got was attitude even though I told him I had never dropped it, my macbook is flawless and i've seen MANY threads on the apple website about how this is a very common issue. There was even a pro in the store with the same issue.

Needless to say he said nothing can be done or it's 300 bucks. So I left.

I have apple care as well.

So good luck :)

if u call apple im sure theyd best be able to answer this..

I've gotten 2 power adapters replaced by them over the phone, took about 15 minutes each time just to fill out all the ship-to addresses and get my "just in case in don't return it" credit card number.

Apple is awesome! Unfortunately they suck at designing reliable power adapters...

Good to know - think I'll call them today rather than go over to the Apple Store

Well I popped along to the Apple store and they just gave me a now power supply no questions asked.

Applecare is so worthwhile
