Will applecare replace power cord?

I know they have a slighter longer plastic portion to prevent fraying now (i saw a picture comparison somewhere) and i have a feeling mine might be going bad soon. what should i tell them on the phone so they don't assume abuse?

yep they will. I had this issue with my 2yr old ibook and they sent me a brand new one

I had a similar issue as well with an ibook I had several years ago. They just sent me a new cord and didn't even ask for the old one to be returned.

LOL I'm sure half the people on MR know my story of my power cord Take it to a dealer they replaced mine when it started smoking
