Will applecare replace power cord?

I know they have a slighter longer plastic portion to prevent fraying now (i saw a picture comparison somewhere) and i have a feeling mine might be going bad soon. what should i tell them on the phone so they don't assume abuse?

yep they will. I had this issue with my 2yr old ibook and they sent me a brand new one

I had a similar issue as well with an ibook I had several years ago. They just sent me a new cord and didn't even ask for the old one to be returned.

LOL I'm sure half the people on MR know my story of my power cord 😛 Take it to a dealer they replaced mine when it started smoking 😛
