I am looking to buy a very basic, no-frills, HTPC for my parents living room. My parents would only download 1280x720 video; output to HDTV via DVI; watching streaming HD video content (often through Flash players). My parents currently have a laptop (Sony Vaio @1.8Ghz, GeForce 9300) hooked up to the TV, which can handle each of these use requirements. But this setup is inconvenient as they unhappily detach and re-attach the laptop every day so they can also use their laptop for other normal purposes. Question: Will the base-level Mac Mini (i.e., 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo w/ 1GB RAM) handle HD Flash, such as YouTube HD and Hulu HD? And, would it be able to play 1280x720 video files outputting to HDTV via DVI?
