Will current Mac Studio support a ProMotion Studio display?

As title states, wondering if the current Mac Studio output would support a ProMotion (120hz) version of a Studio display.

Can it display ProMotion (adaptive), or do those ProMotion displays need an extra module (like G-Sync and Freesync do)?

I'm curious - do the above comments mean we think the current Studio will not be able to support the rumored Promotion 27" display that is supposed to be launching this year? By "support" I mean fully utilize the display using TB4 ports on the Studio.

I haven't even heard a rumour of such a device in the first place.

What have been making the rounds is some kind of 7K display to replace the Apple Pro Display XDR that released in 2019.

That's what I am trying to figure out, if it would support a hypothetical ProMotion 5k display.

I am not smart enough to calculate it, or know the intricacies of the ProMotion setup 🙂

It seems Apple loves 27 inches. Hence, the iMac 27, iMac Pro 27, Cinema Display 27.

Since the 27" Cinema Display is long in the tooth, and I've personally spoken with Apple staff who say they think the next cinema display should have ProMotion... it seems odd not to explore the 27" ProMotion option.

Hence, the thread to see if the Studio would support such a device 🙂
