Will the cyclemeter app work if I upgrade to ios6 on my 4s?
Would be a real shame as it´s a great app.

I didn´t know that
So it´s even better than I thought.
Thanx for ultra quick reply :D

Cyclemeter doesn't require a data connection, but it does use the maps api. With iOS6, it now uses Apple's maps rather than Google-sourced maps with no obvious change in functionality.

OK, so whatever app is used it´s still some kind of standard map.
Thanks, I just want to know how far I´ve commuted :)

Unfortunately where I live in the UK it has made the app useless :( Whereas I used to get lovely detailed satellite images, I now get black squares with no entry signs on them. Only by zooming out a lot can you get the satellite image but at the zoomed out scale it is useless. Unless this is fixed ASAP I won't be upgrading to an iPhone 5 - I'll be looking at a Samsung Galaxy S3 instead :)

Thanks for the warning. It's one of my favourite apps so this is yet another reason to stay on iOS 5.

Actually it works pretty good. But I have to agree the maps aren't as detailed as before.

Ditto.

I use Runkeeper. Works, but maps not as detailed.

Wish that apple and google could have come to an agreement.
Google do have the best maps, and they've been in it for years.

No point for apple to try and compete on it. They should embrace it.

I'm another RunKeeper user and wished my maps still worked. I'm now running/ biking in a barren landscape with no reference on where I am.

Yeah it's a hassle dude...

I just wish apple would start to think clearly on these things. There's just too much wrong with iOS6. I just had a spray in another thread.

What bewilders me most is how most apple users just accept whatever apple dish up. It's terrible.
