My grandfather just got a new MacBook Pro with the Leopard OS. He wants to get a Talk and type program for dictation to write a book. I found this software for Dragon Naturally but its made for a PC.

can the new operating system run pc programs?

or does anyone have any suggestions on a Mac friendly Talk&Type software?

    thanks

My Aunt uses Dragon speak. You can run Dragon Speak in XP in either parallels, Vmware or boot camp for sure.

My partner uses Dragon Naturally Speaking Standard version 9 on a Mac Mini, 1.83 GHz, I MB RAM. Win XP on Bootcamp. She has used Dragon for ten years and reports that Dragon on Bootcamp is better than on the 2 PCs she’s used. It actually works at the same speed she talks. She doesn’t have to slow down at all. If you have more RAM and a faster processor, than the specs I mentioned it will be even better!
