Will formatting fix my fans?

Hi,

When I got my 24" iMac, it was dead silent. Now, I can hear the fans on all the time. It's not terribly loud, but it's quite annoying, and I'm pretty sure they were much more silent when I first got teh system. What happened? Should I format? Thanks!

Do you have the imac in a cool ventilated area?
What programs do you have running...hack etc..
Do you keep the imac up and running 24/7?

No, I did not. It's still on my desk, and I would say it's pretty well ventilated.
Is there a way I can disable all of my currently running programs at start up?

And no, I close it off at night, and it's not on all day.

open system prefs>accts>login items. remove any apps you do not want at startup.

I tried that, same problem. Im not sure it's even a problem. It just seems that last week when I got the iMac it seemed quieter
