I checked and was affected by the equifax hack. I froze my credit file with all credit reporting agencies.

Can this affect iphone preorder? I am an ATT wireless customer trying to upgrade from 6s+ and my contract is over.

I am not sure if i am going to buy it outright, do the monthly ATT plan, or apple upgrade program.

Will frozen credit file be a problem with any of the above options?

You definitely won't be able to do the IUP as that's a new loan. Buying outright would be fine as long as you have the available credit on the card you want to use (or the funds in your bank account). You'd have to ask AT&T if they're able to sign you up to a new contract with your credit frozen (I suspect they can't) :( Outright may be your only option until you lift the freeze.

To my knowledge existing creditors can still access your information. If you're an ATT customer and trying to upgrade through them you should be fine.

If you're trying to open a new account then you would need to unfreeze for them to be able to pull your information. I'm not sure if you froze your file at all 3 agencies, but keep in mind that different companies use different agencies, so to open a new line of credit you'd first need to know who they use for verification to determine who you need to unfreeze.
