Pre-ordered my iPhone 5 through Verizon and have noticed that the home button is defective. It only works sometimes when pressed, appears to be jiggly and is crooked. Upset because other than that, the phone is perfect, no dents or scratches or anything.

My dilemma is, do I return it to the local Verizon corp store for a replacement or should I go to the Genius Bar? I have a warranty on the phone, so Apple swapping it out for another iPhone won't work; it's either replace through Verizon or the Genius Bar fixes the button.

Does anyone know if the Genius Bar will replace or fix a defective iPhone home button or do they just exchange outright?

The Genius bar will just replace the phone. They have no way to do that kind of repair. They have replacement stock. Verizon probably doesn't. :apple:

Thanks! I just hate having to drive to the Apple Store since it's an hour away....but will if I have to.
