Actually, having just read through that stuff - it doesn't look so bad. Maybe I could do it.
Even if you don't want to do it, do you maybe know someone who can?
It will be cheaper, as Apple takes a premium on RAM and the work hour (which actually is just 10 minutes) will cost some shillings too.
It looks ok for me to do it. And I just checked the cost of RAM at Crucial which is very reasonable.

But yes, an Apple Store can help putting more in it, but as it very easy to do yourself, you don't need to spend the extra money.
