The next iPhone should be released soon. I am on the iPhone upgrade program. In the attached picture, in the bottom left, you can see a dark spot. Will I need to get my screen fixed before I send this phone back? As of this moment, I am anticipating upgrading to the iPhone 16.

Edit: Based on the few replies, i have received so far, I guess I need to go to the Apple Store and get it repaired. I presume that the repair in this case is to replace the screen. I would rather do that now, than have to deal with it as I am upgrading.

Edit 2: Thanks everyone. I went to the Apple Store today and they replaced the screen.

What if my iPhone is broken or beaten up?

The terms of the Upgrade Program require your phone to be in "good physical and operating condition". That means your iPhone must:

Power on and hold a charge;
Have an intact and functioning display;
Have no breaks or cracks; and
Have Activation Lock disabled (you may be asked to disable at the time of upgrade).

If you've broken your phone and you want to upgrade, now might be the time to exercise your AppleCare+ program. After all, you paid for that added level of protection. Get your phone in good order, then trade it in.

Yes and with the AppleCare+ that should only be $29. I broke the back of my phone twice now. $29 each time.

Yeah, I'd get it fixed before trading it in, especially if you're going to use Apple's mail in trade in program. They are sticklers.

Just spend the $29 and claim it under AppleCare+ then you won't have to worry about if they'll accept your device or not. Why take a chance?
