Yea its a bummer you can't preorder the 5s. I guess they really want to persuade people to buy the new 5c so they're only offering that as a preorder.
I can't take time off from work to wait in line so ill just have to order the 5s (hopefully!) online on the 20th. Fingers crossed!
Actually, I believe the no order policy on 5S is because stock will be really low by 20th (there is also an article on AppleInsider which draws same conclusion).

Nooooooooo! I didn't even think of that. Man I'm gonna miss out on the phone. I can feel it. When the iPhone 5 sold out, it wasn't readily available again until after the new year right? I know the 5 also had major production issues. Hopefully apple got that issue sorted out over the past year. I'm sure there will be shortages early on in the new device's life, but hopefully they're readily available by late October after the I urial rush does down. This is, of course, assuming I fail to order one online on September 20. One can hope for the best though!

Yep. Drives the black market prices very high too.
People will pay $900,1000 for a 16GB iPhone instead of having to wait a month to get the newest and hottest iPhone.
